Prince rocked the Hamptons. Our first in the five concert series last Saturday went off without a hitch. The weather was clear, the food and booze plentiful, and our guests boogied to The Purple One.
Sure, Bon Jovi, Christie Brinkley, Jay Z, Leo, Kelly Ripa and a whole host of celebs were there, but the night belonged to Prince; the man Quincy Jones once said is the only one who can save the music industry. And for two hours on Saturday at our freshly built venue at The Ross School (pic above), Prince showed just how he intended to do just that.
We’ve got no show this Saturday, then Dave Mathews is next followed by Billy Joel, James Taylor and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. One down, four more to go.
It’s been a long time in the making, a huge effort by so many great people, and while Howard Stern is lamenting missing it and Kelly Ripa and everyone else is talking about how it was the best show ever, four short words sum it up ever so nicely: Prince Rocked The Hamptons.
I’m good with that.
