iPhone 2.0: Remote App

I’ve only just downloaded and installed the new 2.0 software for my iPhone and while MobileMe is not yet running, I’ve gone to the app store and downloaded a few free apps from among the hundreds to play with.

The NYTimes reader is nice as is the Google app that gives me decent access but it’s the Apple Remote app that is just, well, cool.

All it does is allow the iPhone to control iTunes on a computer. But it’s fast, clean, and so much fun to play with. The interface is nice, the control feels good, and it works. Just works.

Coupled with the airport remote with some speakers, Sonos is going to have to step up to the plate. Sure, this is one zone only, but it is very neat.

Excellent app.
